The Philadelphia Phillies have the best record in baseball (26-12), which is about 25% into the 2024 MLB regular season. And betting markets have started to take notice.

To be fair, oddsmakers have always kept an eye on a team that has secured consecutive NLCS berths and a World Series appearance in the past two years.

However, the Phillies' odds at the BetMGM online sportsbook have been adjusted, reflecting their ascent to first place in the National League East.

To claim the division crown, Philadelphia remains an underdog to win the NL East with a price of +175 or an implied probability of 36.4%. But that’s a notable improvement from a +325 preseason price.

For comparison, the Atlanta Braves have moved from -275 to -225 to win the NL East for the seventh consecutive season.

In addition, the Phillies are getting even more respect in the futures market regarding NL pennant and World Series odds.

Philadelphia is now +500 (16.6% implied probability) to win the National League after being +800 (11.1%) in the preseason. That means a $10 bet would net a $50 payout if a bettor chose to bet on the Phillies.

As for their World Series odds, the Phillies are tied with the fourth-best price at +1000 (9.1%). They were +1500 to win it all in the spring after never being lower than +1800 during the regular season last year.

For context, FanGraphs’ latest playoff odds give the Phillies a 6.5% chance of winning the World Series. Philadelphia is projected to finish 92-70 with a 25.8% chance of winning the division at FanGraphs.

The baseball season is long, and these odds will fluctuate daily. But everyone should be paying attention to the Phillies heading into the summer.
