May 19: RHP (viral illness) throws three-plus innings in rehab start
Maeda, pitching for Triple-A Toledo in the first game of a Sunday doubleheader at Indianapolis, allowed a first-inning run on back-to-back doubles by Henry Davis and Jake Lamb, then allowed one hit the rest of the way while racking up six strikeouts.

The right-hander threw just 10 fastballs out of 53 pitches, averaging 89.8 mph, but put his splitter and slider to work, garnering 12 swinging strikes out of 32 pitches combined. His relatively short outing could set up another rehab start with the Mud Hens, who continue on the road at Louisville this week.

In a corresponding move, Adcock was DFA'd. The Tigers claimed him from the Mariners on April 15. He allowed six earned runs and nine hits over six innings with Triple-A, but did not make an appearance on the Major League roster.
